LGBTQ+ Mental Health Hero of the Week: Scott Sharp

A collage of photos showing a happy caucasian man volunteering with a collection bucket at a public event.Scott Sharp is one of MindOut’s dedicated volunteers. You might have seen him at the Brighton Marathon in a MindOut shirt collecting donations for us. We’re so grateful to Scott for volunteering his time and being so enthusiastic about representing our organisation. We asked him why he chose to volunteer for us, and here’s what he said:

‘I went through my life not knowing anything about my mental health. It was only when I hit rock bottom and became homeless I sought help. Someone told me about MindOut, so I asked for help and met with Emma (she’s great). MindOut helped me fight homelessness and I am now living in my dream home. I also use MindOut for numerous other things that I struggle with from my mental health. I wanted to volunteer and get involved as I know how much this amazing place does for people like me. Volunteering has also gotten me back out in the community–I’m starting to gain my confidence back! Thanks MindOut.’

You can donate to MindOut to and help to support the organisation just like Scott does here.
