LGBTQ+ Mental Health Hero of the Week: Curtis Scott

This week’s LGBTQ+ Health Hero is Curtis Scott.

Curtis, and his classmates Jess, Lou, Ruth, Ellie, organised a spectacular event called MindOut for Music. This event was part of their final coursework at the University of Brighton. They arranged a fantastic lineup of local musicians to perform, and publicised the event. All the profits from the ticket sales were donated to MindOut. In addition to raising money, this event helped to raise awareness about mental health issues, and reduce stigma around them. Curtis is a passionate individual who put his considerable organisational and leadership skills to work. He showed how a spirit of MindOut for each other can make a difference in the community and was an absolute pleasure to work with because of how much he cares for others.

You can donate to MindOut here. To nominate someone as a Queer Mental Health Hero, email [email protected] and follow us on Facebook and Twitter (#QueerMentalHealthHero) to see each week’s recipient.
