Yearlong fundraising initiative ‘My Costume Drama’

My_Costume_DramaAaron Lawrence has chosen an brilliant, unorthodox way to raise funds and awareness for  MindOut, the LGBTQ Mental Health Service. Aaron’s challenge is to wear nothing but fancy dress for a whole year. Aaron will swap his entire wardrobe and become a furry crocodile, a colourful zebra, a superhero, a rock-star, a Hollywood icon and many more characters over the next year.  He will be in fancy dress at work, going shopping, on holiday, attending a wedding or job interview, every single day!  This will undoubtedly lead to many hilarious and entertaining moments, you can able to follow Aaron’s adventures on his blog www.mycostumedrama.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/mycostumedrama.

When asked how he came up with the idea he recalls:

“I’ve always loved a little fancy dress. One day I joked that I liked it so much I should do it full time. As I was also trying to think of a way to raise money for MindOut and support their tremendous services for LGBTQ people affected by mental health issues, My Costume Drama was born. And I only just realised that 2016 is a leap year, as if 365 days were not enough. I will have to think something special for the 29th of February…” he concludes smiling.

My Costume Drama launch will take place Friday 2nd October at The Bedford Tavern.  All welcome to come along, in fancy dress if you can, and join the fun. The launch will be followed by several events throughout the year to mark Aaron’s fundraising journey, including a monthly pub quiz and a 5k Colour Run.

Please support Aaron with donations directly at any event or online via his donation page www.justgiving.com/mycostumedrama.
