Diagnosis: Homophobic - The Experiences of Lesbians, Gay Men and Bisexuals in Mental Health Services (Linda McFarlane, 1998) This report is the result of a ground-breaking 18 month qualitative research project funded by the Department of Health and conducted by PACE. It gives evidence of unacceptably high levels of homophobia within the mental health services, and shows how this further exacerbates the distress experienced by users. Thirty-three recommendations for good practice in working with lesbian, gay and bisexual users are included. |
