"One in four people is likely to have a mental health problem at some time in their life. We need to make sure that debt worries do not make things worse. That is why the FLA's Lending Code ensures our members deal sympathetically and positively with any customer facing difficulties, and sensitively with those who have mental health problems. Our members train staff accordingly, and take extra care to help customers with mental health problems manage their accounts."
