Why support us?
"I was desperate. Without the kids I would have killed myself. Then I found out about Mind and they introduced me to others who know what I had gone through, because they had been there themselves. Things are better for me now but there are thousands of others still out there. Please help Mind to continue this vital work for everyone with experience of mental distress." Heather
The need
Mental health problems can affect anyone, rich or poor, young or old, shattering the lives of those affected and the people close to them. One in four of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives. Each year more than 250,000 people are admitted to psychiatric hospitals and over 4,000 people take their own lives.
For 60 years Mind has been leading the way in working to improve the quality of life of people who experience mental distress.
